How hard would it be for me to learn play bass guitar?
Posted by: | CommentsI play drums and other percussion instruments. I can read music and I have a small understanding of how tabs work.
I think you have a good head start =) - since you already have experience with drums and percussion, you’ll have a better sense of rhythm, which is really important when you play bass. Reading music will also help a lot, though a knowledge of tabs isn’t vital. Go for it! =)
Good luck =)
Cheers

What chords should I learn how to play if I want to learn playing the guitar?
Posted by: | CommentsI’m starting to learn and was wondering what chords I should learn to play in succession to help me become faster with my fingers. Also, if there are any web sites that would help, please let me know. Thanks…
Guitar Hero baby! That probably wont teach you how to play, but you’ll have fun!
How do you figure out guitar chords for a song?
Posted by: | CommentsHow do you figure out guitar chords for a song? I am a pretty good guitar player, but I can not figure out guitar chords from songs…
in figure out, do you mean figure it out yourself?
haha well if you are, for me, i mainly figure them out by ear.. if it’s in a pretty simple key like c, g, or d, i can usually figure it out in one of my first tries, but if it’s in a tricky key (because i don’t know that many guitar chords :P), i just get my capo and play around and move it up the frets until it’s the correct key haha..that’s probably not the best way, but that’s just how i do it
oh, and since you said you’re a pretty good guitar player, i’m guessing you know a lot more chords than me, so you won’t have to use the capo at all, maybe!
and another thing, listening to the song on your ipod while you’re playing the guitar reaaaally helps, so try that! well i hope i helped! good luck with figuring out the chords and everything
p.s. and if you really can’t figure out the chords, you can probably just look it up on google, or even ask it here on yahoo answers haha.
How do you learn to play guitar and have fun?
Posted by: | CommentsI love to sing and write songs, but to be successful in any way I will need to learn either guitar or piano, and seeing that I already own a guitar, I hope to learn that. I need suggestions, cuz whenever I pick it up I just get frustrated or bored trying to learn chords. I need help!
You need motivation for sure.
There are many ways.
If you’d like to accomplish it with someone you could
a) Hire a music teacher
b) Enlist the help of someone you know that plays guitar that you know you could get along with.
If you’d like to accomplish it on your own, there are many ways
a) Online. You may have to pay a fee, but you could do it on your own time in your own schedule [[you'd need the motivation to stick to it]]
b) Buy a book..but most likely that’ll bore you
c) Get a video.
d) Figure it out on your own, or with a group of people.
Good luck!
What does everyone think about online guitar lessons versus lessons from an instructor?
Posted by: | CommentsI need help deciding whether to get guitar lessons online or go to an actual instructor.
When learning an instrument, an actual teacher is the only way to go. Online studies might teach you a few chords, but that’s no substitute for personal instruction.
